major league baseball players, major league baseball historyFor a long time now, MLB officials and Major League Baseball players have wondered why the instant replay has not been brought into the game. We see it in basketball and football through challenges. There is no reason why it shouldn’t be in baseball especially since the field is so large. Human error is always possible but with the availability of instant replay, less mistakes will be made.

According to the latest baseball news, such a system is nearing final approval. The reply plan was presented to commissioners of the league on Wednesday. The final approval just has to come down to Bud Selig.

The MLB President said this in an interview, “What we need is to have stuff installed. What we need are people to make sure it's going to work. And what we need is for umpires to understand the protocol. I don't think we need a gala run up (mlb.com).”

Major League baseball history has seen more then it’s fair share of bad calls. The technology is here so I see no reason why not to implement the system by the start of playoffs.
